Lovers of the McDonald's all day breakfast have started 2023 off to some disappointing news - the breakfast waffles are being axed from the menu for the time being.
They will go alongside other favourites such as Cheese Melt Dippers and the Big Tasty, according to food website delish. However, they will be introducing new items across stores such as a Double McPlant Burger and a Spicy Sriracha Wrap.
And for those who just can't go without that breakfast waffle when treating themselves to a McDonald's, there's an alternative available at Aldi.
Shoppers can stock up on the supermarket’s Four Seasons Mini Hash Brown Waffles for 99p. The 454g bag could save shoppers some money as they'll get more than enough potato waffles to feed them and pals.
And if shoppers decide that they want a 'fake-away', they can also pick up Aldi’s 12 Chicken Nuggets & Dips which cost just £1.89 and come with either BBQ or Sweet Chilli dips.
Or they might be interested in Aldi’s version of Chicken Selects with the 4 Boneless Chicken Strips, which costs £2.49 for 230g.
Those who prefer a burger fix can enjoy Aldi’s Snacksters Big Stack which puts you back £1.79, costing a whopping £1.40 less than McDonald’s.
While Aldi have shared some alternatives, fast food fans have taken to social media to share their disappointment about the item disappearing from the menu.
One tweeted: "Nooooo McDonalds have taken the potato waffles off, they were my fave, preferred them to the hash browns," while another wrote: Why are McDonalds always removing the best things from their breakfast menu? First the breakfast wrap and now those mini-potato waffles."
