As the cost of living crisis continues to soar, many of us have begun to look for ways to cut back on our energy usage, particularly in the kitchen, which has led to a surge in popularity for air fryers.
One model that seen a huge surge in demand was Ninja, with its dual basket air fryer's being a sell-out hit with shoppers. But if you don't want to shell-out £229.99 for the energy-efficient kitchen gadget, then Aldi has the next best thing.
Priced at just £89.99, the discounted German grocery chain's air fryer "dupe" is £140 cheaper than the premium branded model, and it already had already went down a storm with shoppers online after it went on sale this weekend.
Fans flocked to the Aldi UK shoppers group on Facebook to alert others to "set their alarms" for Sunday, November 6, as the supermarket's Ambiano Dual Basket Air fryer would be going on sale as part of their online Specialbuys range at 8am.
Featuring a design suspiciously similar to Ninja's Foodi MAX Dual Zone Air Fryer AF400UK, Aldi's model comes complete with two 4L drawers and plenty of space to cook all your family-favourite meals.
It also features a 60 minute timer, digital touch screen, non-stick coating and seven pre-set cooking programmes, including a reheat, defrost and a keep warm function.
Officially dropping online on Sunday morning, the budget-friendly air fryer proved to be such a massive hit that thousands of shoppers flocked to the website and found themselves placed in a virtual queue.
After many of them patiently waited in the queue for the whole morning, many were left disheartened after it completely sold out online within less than 24 hours of going available.
Many flocked to Twitter to express their disappointment, with some even saying that the supermarket's website had actually crashed due to high demand for the air fryer.
However, it is not all bad news, as the Ambiano Dual Basket Air Fryer is set to be available to buy in-stores as part of the Specialbuys range this Sunday, November 13.
