Aldi, Lidl, Asda, Tesco and Sainsbury's issue 'do not eat' warning for beer, sauce and more

Tesco, Asda, Lidl, Aldi and Sainsbury's have issued urgent recalls due to safety fears.

The Food Standards Agency has issued warnings for beer, cheesecake, sauce and more. In some cases, the products are a health risk due to the presence of sulphites, while others are allergy specific.

When a product is recalled, the Food Standards Agency shares details on what you should do if you have bought the item, as well as detailed information on why the product is being pulled from shelves. Anyone with any of the below items should visit their nearest supermarket for a full refund or exchange.

Tesco

Tesco is recalling various dessert products because they contain traces of walnuts (nuts), which are not mentioned on the label. This means the products are a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to walnuts (nuts).

If you’ve bought an affected product, please don’t eat it if you have an allergy to walnuts. Instead, return it to a Tesco store for a refund. No receipt is required.

Asda

Asda is taking the precautionary step of recalling Asda Plant Based Lemon Cheesecake because it may contain traces of walnuts and hazelnuts (nuts), which are not mentioned on the label. This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to walnuts and/or hazelnuts (nuts).

Lidl

Lidl is recalling Stewart Brewing Crazy Haze – Hazy IPA as a precaution. When a product is recalled, the Food Standards Agency shares details on what you should do if you have bought the item, as well as detailed information on why the product is being pulled from shelves.

Anyone with the item should visit their nearest supermarket for a full refund or exchange.

Stewart Brewing Crazy Haze (Lidl)

Lidl is only recalling IPA's with lot codes L1, L2, L3 and L4. They say possible overpressure of cans may cause bulging and potential rupture due to over-carbonation which could result in a potential injury.

If you have bought the product, you are advised not to open it. Instead, place in a plastic bag and chill thoroughly, and handle it carefully when returning it to a Lidl GB store for a full refund, with or without a receipt.

Other lot codes or Stewart Brewing products are not affected by this recall.

Sainsbury's

Unisnacks Europe Limited is recalling Lotte Pepero Snowy Almond because it contains peanuts and sesame which are not mentioned on the label. This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to peanuts and/or sesame.

This allergy alert has been updated to include an additional allergen, sesame.

Aldi

Aldi is recalling Bramwells Tartare Sauce because it contains sulphites which is not mentioned on the label. Due to mis-packing, Bramwells Tartare Sauce labels have been incorrectly applied to Bramwells Horseradish Sauce.

This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with a sensitivity to sulphur dioxide and/or sulphites.
