Aldi, Lidl and Sainsbury's are reducing the price of vegetables to just 19p ahead of Christmas.
Lidl has slashed the price of its carrots (1kg), parsnips (500g), mini roasts (1.5kg), swede and Brussels sprouts (500g). These prices will be available in stores from December 15, until stocks last.
Sainsbury's is also reducing Christmas veggie prices in store from December 18. Customers will be able to get carrots (1kg), parsnips (500g), white potatoes (2.5kg), Brussels sprouts (500g), red and white cabbages and swede for 19p each.

Meanwhile, Aldi has confirmed it will knock down the price of its vegetables to 19p. Their selection includes carrots (1kg), white potatoes (2kg), parsnips (500g), red and white cabbages (each), Brussels sprouts (500g), and swede (each). Aldi shoppers will find these prices in stores from December 18, reports The Mirror.
Last year, a number of supermarkets cut the price of their vegetables in the lead up to Christmas. At Tesco and Morrisons, carrots were given away for free in a bid to spread festive cheer and tackle food waste. Morrisons gave away 10,000 "wonky" versions of the root vegetables across its almost 500 stores.
Asda has also been known to give away free vegetables, including carrots, broccoli and parsnips, on Christmas Eve.
