Aldi, Lidl and ASDA warnings as items recalled and pulled from shelves

Urgent recall notices have been issued for products from supermarkets Aldi, Lidl and ASDA, amid safety fears. The Food Standards Agency (FSA) will announce details on what shoppers do when they recall produce.

Customers have been advised not to consume a number of products and to return them to stores for a full refund. You will not need a receipt for a refund, Liverpool Echo reports.

Aldi

Aldi is recalling Plant Menu Organic Super Firm Tofu because of a temperature control issue that could potentially spoil the product, which may be unsafe to eat.

  • Plant Menu Organic Super Firm Tofu
  • Pack size: 200 g
  • Use-by dates: April 13 2023 and April 14 2023

If you have bought the above product do not eat it. Instead, return it to the Aldi store from where it was bought for a full refund. The issue only affects product sold at a limited number of Aldi stores in the Midlands.

Asda

JK Foods is recalling Tiger Tiger Taste Japan Mirin because it contains soya which is not mentioned on the label. This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to soya.

  • Allergen: soya

Lidl

Lidl GB is recalling Deluxe Strolghino Salami 250g due to the potential presence of Salmonella.

The products recalled have a use by date of April 13 2023 and May 8 2023. Salmonella can trigger severe gastrointestinal symptoms.

If you have bought the above mentioned product you should not to eat it. Instead, return it to a Lidl GB store for a full refund, with or without a receipt.

The Cambridge Food Company

The Cambridge Food Company Limited is recalling The Old Cheese Room Baronet and Baby Baronet Soft Cheeses because Listeria monocytogenes has been found in some batches of these products. The Cambridge Food Company Limited trades under the names Rennet & Rind and Cheese.
