Aldi has launched a super-sized sausage roll in time for Christmas. The supermarket is taking on Greggs in a bid to win the affections of sausage and pastry lovers.
The extra-large version is decorated with a pastry star for a festive touch. Aldi says it makes the "flavoured British delicacy the perfect centrepiece addition to any Christmas Party".
The giant sausage roll is 24cm long, 400g and more than nine inches long, which Aldi says makes it almost four times the size of a Greggs sausage roll. There are two versions - sweet chilli chutney or cranberry sauce.
Aldi said: "Weighing in at a colossal 400g and over nine inches long, the supersized sausage is almost four times the size of a Greggs sausage roll – but not four times the price! The 24cm long Specially Selected Extra Large Christmas Sausage Roll holds a succulent British pork sausage meat slathered in a choice of either a sweet chilli chutney or a cranberry sauce, encased in flaky puff pastry."
The sausage roll is on sale now.
