Aldi has set off into the world of fashion again with a new sportswear range that shoppers have jokingly rebranded as 'Aldidas'.
The budget supermarket chain is expanding its sell-out Aldimania clothing range that was first launched in December last year with a brand new line of comfortable clothing.
Described as its most "daring" campaign yet, Aldi Originals officially dropped online on Sunday, November 20, where it quickly sent shoppers on social media into a frenzy.
The new range features comfortable sportswear-inspired clothing including hoodies and joggers from £12.99, as well as a pair of trainers from £14.99 that have already sold out.
The full line-up of clothing will go available as part of the supermarket's iconic Specialbuys range this Thursday, November 24 and Aldi has advised shoppers to act quickly if they don't want to miss out.
Aldi announced the release of its sportswear line with a cheeky post on Twitter that read: "We can't say it, so you'll have to. #AldiOriginals drops online Sunday, in store next week."
The hashtag for the new range then quickly began trending on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram as more than 47,000 people thought the exact same thing.
"Aldidas Originals", joked one shopper.
"Adidas love it. O sorry Aldi Originals", commented a second.
Aldi also wittily responded to one shoppers comment on Twitter with a tweet that read: "@ our lawyers...he said it not us."
While the full range is set to drop in stores this Thursday, it is worth noting that the trainers have already sold out after shoppers snapped them up in less than 24 hours.
An Aldi spokesperson told the Daily Record: "As with all Specialbuys, products are only available for a limited time only and when they're gone, they're gone!"
Alongside the loungewear, the full line-up of Aldi's Originals will also feature Christmas items such as a unisex onesie for £19.99 and an Aldi branded jumper £9.99. Fans can don the full Aldimania look with pom-pom style hats from £3.99 and socks for just £2.49.
The full Aldi Originals clothing line, excluding the trainers, will be available in-store from November 24. Check with your local store for stock availability.
