Aldi launches Kevin the Carrot jelly sweets and they're vegan-friendly

Aldi has jokingly told M&S favourite Percy Pig to "move over" - with launch of Kevin the Carrot jelly sweets named after its popular character. The Kevin sweets will arrive in the supermarket's confectionary aisle later this month.

The orange-flavoured, carrot-shaped treats will be available in two versions depending on shoppers' tastebuds - sweet or sour. Aldi says they will be made to a vegan formula so they can be enjoyed by all.

Kevin has been a fixture of Aldi's Christmas season since making his debut in a seasonal advert in 2016. The character and members of his family have since been made available to buy as cuddly carrot toys and Aldi added to the range last year with a Kevin advent calendar.

Aldi said: "Move over Percy, there’s a new sweet icon in town. The UK’s most famous carrot is set to make his confectionery aisle debut on 20th October.

"Arriving on shelves in time for Halloween, Kevin is ready to take on Percy and pals, at a fraction of the price, retailing at a fruit-astic 89p. While the sweets may be carrot shaped, for this product only, Kevin will take a walk on the fruity side with a delicious orange flavour.

"Made with 15% fruit, shoppers can choose between two tasty flavours: sweet or sour. What’s more, the delicious sweets are made with a unique vegan formula so these treats can be enjoyed by all."
