Aldi launches hot cross bun gin liqueur for Easter and it sounds amazing

Forget chocolate eggs - Aldi is launching a hot cross bun gin liqueur to get you in the mood for Easter.

The discount supermarket is set to release the limited-edition Infusionist Hot Cross Bun Gin Liqueur that is flavoured with notes of caramel, raisins and spice.

The sweet tipple will be available to buy in stores and online just in time for Easter celebrations from March 31.

With an ABV (alcohol by volume) of 20%, the hot cross bun booze will be priced at £8.99 for a 75cl bottle when it goes on sale.

It can be enjoyed neat, over ice or mixed with ginger ale and a slice of fresh orange for a zesty twist.

Whether you'll be making the most of the Bank Holiday weekend with a celebratory soirée or having a quiet evening indoors, be sure to get your hands on the latest addition to Aldi's much-loved Infusionist range.

Other popular gin liqueur flavours in the Infusionist range include Strawberry & Vanilla (£6.99) and Raspberry Jam Donut (£4.99). You can check out the full range of spirits from the discounter at aldi.co.uk.

If you're planning to visit your local Aldi, can find out your nearest one by using the handy store locator tool. Opening and closing times for each branch can also be checked there as well.

The news of Aldi's seasonal tipple comes after the supermarket launched its quirkiest range of Hot Cross Buns yet, with brand new flavours including Strawberries and Cream and Triple Chocolate. How good does that sound?

On Instagram, food blogger Kevs Snack Reviews recently shared a review of the new Infusionist Hot Cross Bun Gin Liqueur, giving it a seven out of 10 score.

His post of the sweet tipple has racked up hundreds of likes already, so we're expecting it to go down a storm with shoppers when it launches.

If you don't want to miss out, be sure to make a note of when the new Easter booze launches on March 31st - as it's bound to sell out quickly.

In other news, Aldi is selling a churro maker for under £10 and shoppers have been calling it "excellent".
