Aldi launch 'most Instagrammable Specialbuy' yet - and it's perfect for weddings

During the Covid-19 lockdowns, I made a habit of sending flowers to the people I loved, but was unable to see, like my nana and close friends. And as gorgeous as big bright fresh bouquets are, they last a matter of two weeks maximum.

Dried flowers have been growing in popularity for gifting, home decor and even wedding bouquets, and so when I discovered dried blooms, I could gift these to my friends and family, and they’d still look just as stunning by the time I’d get to see them again.

Although there are no further lockdowns on the horizon, I’m still enjoying sending flowers as a little pick-me-up, and Aldi have got a bunch that are sure to send interior enthusiasts wild this summer.

The German supermarket has launched their first range of dried flowers that are perfect for posting to your mates, or brightening up your own living space.

The Specialbuy is one of Aldi’s most instagrammable releases to date, coming arranged wrapped in vintage-inspired kraft paper, tied with ribbon and packed securely, making it the perfect gift for any occasion.

The Insta-worthy florals cost £29.99, which is around 40 per cent cheaper than brands like Bloom and Wild, who’s similar Mimi Bouquet will set shoppers back £50 - £20 more than Aldi’s.

Shoppers can choose between two gorgeous bouquets ‘natural’ or ‘pink’, and are packed with fashionable pampas grass, along with soft, subtle toned bunny tails, white delphinium and spray rose.

A regular on social feeds and a table-scaping must-have, dried flowers are one of the most sought-after interior trends this year, racking up more than 2.5 million tags on Instagram alone.. The new statement bouquets are sure to be popping up all over social feeds this summer.

The long lasting, effortlessly chic floral arrangement can be split into smaller bunches to scatter in mini vases throughout the house, or placed in one huge vase for a show stopping arrangement.

Aldi said: “Brighten up your home with these dried flowers. A lovely alternative to fresh flowers, this dried bunch avoids having to throw flowers in the bin once they wilt. They will add a lovely contemporary style to your home.”

Shoppers have already been leaving five star reviews for the blooms, with one shopper using them as her wedding bouquet. Emma 9092 said: “Great product , good quality arrived in good condition.”

Bibibabe added: “Well pleased with the flowers and exactly as promoted in the photo. They compliment the colours in my room perfectly and sit in the fireplace. A little patience is needed in arranging the flowers and an oasis or other grill is helpful to keep flowers in position.”

Cazzy wrote: “These are beautiful. I bought these to use for a bridal bouquet. (Can’t have fresh flowers) these are going to be perfect.”

And Mamaji commented: “Bought these flowers for my living room and they are gorgeous! They are actually a good size bunch of flowers. I would recommend spreading them out and arrange them. I did this the moment I received them and they fit perfectly in my big flower vase, and are full.”

Dried flowers aren’t exactly cheap no matter where you buy them, so Aldi’s bunch for under £30 is great value for the size of the arrangement. We like scattering them throughout the house because it brings a little bit of continuity throughout the home, tying the decor together nicely.

I love Cazzy’s idea to have them as a bridal bouquet because she’ll then be able to keep them on show in her home as a reminder of her special day. They look gorgeous and definitely worthy of a special occasion.
