Aldi jokes about Easter treat that has shopper in stitches over X-rated shape

An Aldi shopper has been left gobsmacked after coming across a packet of Easter sweets that don't look quite like they're supposed to.

There are plenty of Easter treats hitting the shelves right now in the run-up to the big day, coming in many different shapes such as eggs, bunnies and other common symbols of the holiday.

But one packet of marshmallows has caused a stir, after a shocked customer posted a snap of the offending sweets online.

The pink and white treats, which were supposed to be shaped like bunnies and chicks and flavoured with vanilla, had a certain X-rated look to them.

And the misshapen marshmallows even prompted an Aldi spokesperson to admit the supermarket had no defence for the rude rabbit form.

Twitter user @missviaborsi uploaded a picture of the own-brand mallows, writing: "Sorry Aldi, but that ain't a Bunny," alongside some crying emojis.

And Aldi, who are no strangers to a bit of social media controversy, had a hilarious response of their own, with the official Twitter account hitting back: "We can't even defend this one."

In the replies, people were equally as shocked that this product had made it to the shelves - but many could see the funny side of the mishap.

One person wrote: "Gotta clear the Valentine's stock somehow!" Another said: "Is Aldi bringing out an adult only range?"

"Great Cockney rhyming slang Aldi," joked a third. "Easter hunt at the local primary school gonna be interesting in the next few weeks!" penned another user.
