Aldi jobs: Hundreds of jobs available in North East with salaries up to £41,000 - and here's how you can apply

Supermarket giant Aldi has announced it is looking to hire 247 people from all levels of experience to fill roles at stores across Tyne and Wear.

The positions include full-time jobs such as store assistants and store management apprentices all the way up to deputy manager, with salaries on offer up to £41,235.

The stores where Aldi is looking to hire include North Shields, Wallsend and Sunderland. The recruitment push from what is the UK's fifth largest supermarket, is part of a nationwide expansion drive.

Aldi has said it expects to create 2,000 jobs nationally in 2022, adding to the 7,000 permanent roles already generated over the past two years.

Kelly Stokes, recruitment director at Aldi UK, said: "As we continue to grow and make Aldi accessible to even more shoppers this year, we need thousands more amazing colleagues across the country to make that possible. That includes job roles at current and new stores across Tyne and Wear.

Store Assistants at Aldi can earn at least £10.10 an hour nationally, and £11.55 inside the M25. Aldi remains the only supermarket to offer paid breaks, which for the average store colleague is worth £750 a year.

Aldi has nearly 30 stores across the North East and plans to open more than 100 new outlets nationally over the next two years as part of is commitment to invest more than £1.3bn by 2023.

Each new store opening creates over 30 new jobs on average, boosting employment opportunities within local areas.
