Budget supermarket chain Aldi has issued an urgent recall for some of their chicken wrap products over health and safety concerns.
The German grocer has recalled their Eat + Go Chicken & Bacon Caesar Wrap and Eat + Go Chicken & Bacon Caesar Wrap Triple, due to the possible presence of salmonella.
The Food Safety Agency (FSA) issued an alert to tell shoppers not to consume any of the affected batches.
The FSA has warned that symptoms caused by salmonella usually include fever, diarrhoea, and abdominal cramps.
Only batches from with a May end date are currently affected. No other batches have been confirmed to be affected as of yet.
Point of sale notices will be displayed in all retail stores that are selling these products. These notices explain to customers why the products are being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought the products.
The notice reads: "We are recalling these products due to the possible presence of Salmonella. Customers are asked to return this product to their nearest store, where a full refund will be given. We apologise for any inconvenience and thank you for your co-operation."
Shoppers are being urged to return the affected products to their nearest Aldi where they will be issued a full refund without a receipt.
