Aldi is on the hunt for wine tasters to help choose their new range but there's a catch

If you're a wine expert, Aldi has got an exciting opportunity for you.

The budget supermarket is inviting "wine connoisseurs" with "a nose for aromas and impeccable tastebuds" to help choose their next range of wines for their selves.

For the first time, wine enthusiasts will be invited to Aldi HQ to join the selection process. Guests will join Aldi’s wine team as well as well known ‘Mistress of Wine’ Sam Caporn MW to experience the wine curation process "from sip to shelf."

The chosen three will be selected by a panel of judges appointed by Aldi, which will be comprised of two representatives from Aldi and an independent freelance wine consultant.

They will then see their chosen wines featured on the shelves of Aldi stores across the country and will also receive their very own batch of final wines before they even hit stores.

And the application process is quite simple. Those interested are asked to send an email to wineclub@aldi.co.uk with a few key details such as your name and proof of age.

Alongside this, applicants should send 150 words that explain why you should be selected as Aldi’s official wine taster for the upcoming Autumn range as well as what your favourite wine is and why.

However, there is a catch. The terms and conditions detail that any interested applicants not only must follow Aldi's Twitter and Instagram account but also have to provide details on their own social media; which must have 1,500 followers combined across both accounts.

Applications are open and will run until March 15 and entrants must be available on April 7 to take part in the tasting process at Aldi HQ.

More information can be found here whilst the full terms and conditions can be found here.
