Aldi is hiring an official beer taster - how to apply for the dream job

Aldi is looking to hire an official beer taster ahead of the launch of a new range of beers.

Yes, lager lovers, pint perfectionist or can connoisseurs - you read that correctly.

The role would involve reviewing a new range of beers, lagers and ciders that are due to launch at the budget supermarket on September 15.

The new range includes brews such as Festbier and Rheinbacher Pilsner for prices as low as £1.09.

The successful candidate will receive a selection of beers to their doorsteps that they will be tasked with testing and reviewing.

Ranging from smooth craft ales to refreshing IPAs, Aldi official beer taster will receive ten different products to review- providing thorough feedback on each.

Reporting their thoughts back to Aldi bosses, they will help to guide and advise on key decisions ahead of its next range.

What’s more, no expert knowledge is needed, the only requirement for the role is a passion for beer and “pints of enthusiasm”, reads the job notice.

You have a whole month to apply with entries open until August 29.

The chosen winner will be selected by Friday 2nd September with samples to follow for review.

To be in with a chance of landing this one-off opportunity, you need to send an email explaining why you think they should be chosen for the role - as well as outlining what your favourite beer is and why.

Included in the email to Aldibeertaster@clarioncomms.co.uk should be the following details:

  • Full name
  • Proof of age (copy of passport or driving license)
  • Social media handles (If applicable)
  • 150-word explanation as to why they should be chosen for role
  • Favourite beer and why

Julie Ashfield, Managing Director of Buying at Aldi UK, says: “We’re looking for someone with passion and excitement when it comes to craft ale, but who can honestly review our range and provide suggestions as to how we might improve it for next year.

"For beer lovers, this is the ultimate opportunity. Best of luck to all applicants.”

This is not the first beer range that Aldi has launched this year.

Ahead of the Queen's Platinum Jubilee in June, the supermarket launched four British-themed craft beets costing just £1.69 as part of the national celebration.

The four craft beers included a choice of a Session IPA, Session Pale Ale, a British Ale and a British Lager, all packaged in stylish limited-edition prints featuring Big Ben, a Tower of London Guard, Nelson on his Column, and the Queen’s corgis.
