Aldi fans say marketing team needs 'pay rise' after 'savage' dig

Aldi fans have flocked to Instagram to praise its marketing team for a brutal "dig" the retailer made during an advert for its hot chocolate.

The budget supermarket giant is known for its lower-priced alternatives to many branded items. And on Thursday, Aldi shared a post about its hot beverage offering.

In the image, Aldi said: "For hot choccys that don't Costa lot, you know where we are". Captioning the update, Aldi said: "We'd make them for you if we could [heart emoji]"

Fans were quick to comment on the Instagram post. Naeema Aslam said: "Your marketing team needs a pay rise, they are always 100%", while Charlotte said: "Savage and I'm here for it".

Chloe Kennedy said: "It's all the drama, Mick, I just love it" and exploring_cornwall_ said: "Hahaha Aldi, you're my NERO".

Aldi shared the same post on its Twitter account, where it went down just as well with followers. Sarah said: "Love the shade Aldi are bringing", while Kirsty said: "Love this!".

Ruby said: "Ok but seriously Aldi now need to open a drive thru and do £1 coffees". Rids replied: "So sneaky, good one" to which Aldi said: "We have no idea what you mean".
