Aldi has announced the creation of hundreds of new jobs in its Merseyside stores this year.
The fifth-largest supermarket brand in the UK is looking for 225 new employees across its stores in Bootle, Birkdale and Haydock. The new recruitment drive from the company will see a tenth of the jobs on offer nationally based in Merseyside as the company aims to hire 2,000 new employees by the end of the year.
Jobs range from stock assistant to deputy manager, where salaries reach up to £63,245 a year. If Aldi hires the expected 2,000 employees, it will add to the 7,000 that have already been hired in the last two years.

Kelly Stokes, Recruitment Director at Aldi UK, said: “As we continue to grow and make Aldi accessible to even more shoppers this year, we need thousands more amazing colleagues across the country to make that possible. That includes job roles at current and new stores across Merseyside.
“Our colleagues are central to everything we do at Aldi and remain one of the key factors in our success, so we look forward to welcoming even more great people to the team to become a part of our success.”
Store assistants at Aldi earn £10.10 an hour nationally with the supermarket chain being the only one to offer paid breaks. It is estimated that for the average store colleague this amounts to £750 a year.
