ALDI is set to open a new store in a Scottish town later this month.
The new store in Loanhead in Midlothian will officially open to the public on Thursday, November 28 at 8am.
The new store will offer a range of products including Scottish meat, Aldi’s award-winning “specially selected” range and exclusive beers, wines and spirits.
The new shop will be run by store manager Lenka along with a team of 20 colleagues from across the community.
The store manager said: “We can’t wait to open the doors to the new store in Loanhead. It’s set to be a special day.”
To celebrate Aldi’s partnership with Paralympics GB, Paralympic gold medallist Stephen Clegg will cut the all-important ribbon when the store opens.
He said: “I’m so excited to be opening Aldi’s new store, it will be great to chat to customers and a lovely way for me to thank Aldi for its support of Paralympics GB.”
The new store is also calling on local charities and foodbanks to register with Neighbourly, a community engagement platform which links businesses to charitable organisations in the local area.
These charities will then be able to collect any surplus food and perishable products, such as fruit, vegetables and baked goods, seven days a week.
