Aldi will be opening a new store this month and will be giving away free fruit and vegetables to celebrate.
The opening of the new Whittlesey store on Eastrea Road, which has created 30 new jobs for the area, will be on Thursday, June 29 at 8am.
Those wanting to grab some free fruit and veg will have to get down there early as it will be the first 30 customers of the new store to get their hands on the complimentary bags.
The fruit and vegetables in the goody bag will all come from Aldi's Super 6 range.
Alongside this, Paralympic gold medalist Jonathan Broom-Edwards will be cutting the red ribbon at the new store opening.
Aldi works in partnership with Paralympics and Jonathan brought home gold for England in the Men’s High Jump T64 final at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.
Jonathan said: “I’m so excited to be opening Aldi’s new store; it will be great to chat to customers and a lovely way for me to thank Aldi for its support of ParalympicsGB."
Michelle Wilson, store manager at Aldi added: "We can’t wait to open the doors to the new store in Whittlesey. It’s set to be a special day and having ParalympicsGB hero Jonathan Broom-Edwards join us will make it a morning to remember."
The new Whittlesey store is one of five Aldi is set to open over the next few weeks.
Last week, the discount supermarket chain announced that it was to open two new stores in June and a further three in July.
Aldi says the new store openings will create around 40 jobs on average at each new store.
Aldi has yet to confirm the opening dates for the four other stores.
In March, Aldi said that it planned to open 40 new stores over the next year and released a list of where it wants to open 30 of them.
Aldi has a target of eventually having 1,200 stores in the UK.
Aldi said the reason for the openings comes after the demand for budget groceries has "never been higher".
