Aldi and Argos shoppers ditch air fryer for 'energy saving' £60 alternative amid soaring bills

Air fryers are currently one of the most popular 'must have' kitchen gadgets around - and they're not hard to miss with nearly everyone posting about them.

It comes as people across the UK are seeing an increase to their energy bills with millions keeping their heating off in a bid to avoid a large bill.

Because of this, shoppers have been on the hunt for the likes of electric blankets, air fryers, and other clothing to keep themselves warm and reduce just how much energy they're using

But now people are talking about an alternative to air fryers which is allowing people to keep their oven off, just as you would with an air fryer, and it costs just £60.

As spotted by Birmingham Live, Aldi shoppers have said that they are "addicted" to the cheaper alternative which is said to be a multi-cook.

These gadgets allow you to cook dishes and items from soups to risottos and even yoghurt with one touch of a button with them often being cheaper than an air fryer.

The Ambiano Multi Cooker has become a firm favourite with Aldi fans but at the time of writing, it remains out of stock but there are alternatives out there. Argos is selling one for £60 with rave reviews from shoppers. It has five-star reviews from more than 300 people who own the product.

One said: "I bought this multi cooker two weeks ago. I am very happy with my purchase. This multi cooker is fantastic. Lots of programmes and functions and very versatile. Makes cooking so easy and convenient. I would highly recommend to family and friends."

Another added: "Had this a few weeks and so far it has been great. I’ve made curry, sausage casserole, beef stew and veggie soup. Sometimes need to adjust the timing but saving on energy against putting on a whole oven for 2-3 hours or the hob. I do feel that a recipe book would have helped, a few in line but not enough."

If you're struggling to pay your bills, you may be eligible for Scotland's Warm Home Discount scheme to get £150 off your bill this winter. It comes as Money Saving Expert reminded Scottish households of the certain benefits that they can get and unlike in England and Wales, many in Scotland still need to apply with people being urged to apply as soon as possible.
