Aldi £6 Yves Saint Laurent perfume dupe smells 'just like the real thing' says shoppers

Aldi shoppers have praised the return of one of its perfume products that smells "just like" Yves Saint Laurent's Black Opium scent.

The budget giant previously sold Dark Blossom Eau De Parfum, but it went out of stock and customers were no longer able to purchase it.

Fortunately, according to one keen-eyed fan, the popular perfume can once again be picked up from the retailer for the price of £5.99.

The product description on Aldi's website states: "Stuck for gift ideas, or simply want to treat yourself? This Dark Blossom Eau De Parfum by Lacura smells divine.

"Find the perfect scent that suits you making you feel confident no matter where you are. This luxury parfum is the perfect present for a loved one or to add to your collection."

Sharing the news on the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK Facebook group, the shopper wrote: "Bit late to the game maybe but wow wow wow I've always been a perfume snob but recently fell on harder times and I can not believe how much this smells like Black Opium.

"Couple years ago I'd think nothing about spending 90 pound on a bottle of perfume but now I struggle to spend under 10 on myself as its not essential but this little bottle is 5.99 in Aldi and it's blown my mind I'm over the moon with it I hope they keep it for a while in the store."

It wasn't long before fellow Aldi and perfume fans left shared their own thoughts, and the post has received almost 700 comments.

One wrote: "I already have this one and it smells amazing, I went in today and brought the atom and lady pour femme, they also smell so good! And a really good price too."

A second said: "Just got this, it absolutely smells like Black Opium, I have the real one but don’t like to use it for work because it's too expensive. They also had one that smelt like lady million and one that could possibly be a dupe for Olympia."

"As long a perfume smells nice who cares about the cost," argued a third.

A fourth revealed: "I bought my daughter a bottle of perfume from Aldi, a random buy, money short like you, she absolutely loved it, got so many comments, it was power,a copy of Jo Malone, I'll never spend mega money on perfume again, hope you enjoy your perfume."

"It's lovely, not as strong or long lasting but for the price it's a good everyday perfume only problem is it's so hard to find it again once you buy it in Aldi," shared a fifth.

Other Facebook users shared different stores where shoppers could pick up perfume dupes for a bargain price.

One suggested: "Essence Vault is an amazing dupe company! They do now again buy one get one free deals. I've got about 6 of them and they smell just like the real thing! Will never pay full price."

A second shared: "Lidl do dupes of chloe l'eau and channel mademoiselle I have the original of both and they are exactly the same. They do another called lovely too, not sure what that's a dupe of but smells nice."

A third wrote: "I don't care how cheap I sound here. But I like the Poundland ones. They sometimes need a respray in the afternoon but actually I like them and they last long enough.

"I have more expensive perfumes for going out or special occasions but for everyday wear they're decent."
