With great swathes of the UK workforce switching to home or hybrid working, time spent at desks in home offices may be taking its toll on our backs and necks. Advice on sitting position and using the correct chair is all very well but if our posture is letting us down, then those aches and pains will come to the surface.
Writer Kate Lally, from Nottinghamshire Live sister publication, Liverpool Echo, was suffering from her "fair share of aches and pains" so decided to check out a massage gun as she had "always fancied" trying one out - but then she saw the prices. She said: "I did my online research and the best rated ones came in at over £200. Even the best 'budget' ones were around the £100 mark." However, after spotting a £39.99 version on the Aldi website, she decided to give the budget product a spin.
She ordered the Crane fitness massage gun, which claims to "soothe tension knots". Aldi describes it as being "designed to help relax aches and pains after your workout or in your day-to-day life". Here's what Kate discovered.

In Aldi stores and online for £39.99, "it sounded almost too good to be true", said Kate. She added: "The reviews impressed me. One happy customer said it 'makes any pain go away after lifting and is simple to use', while another wrote 'it feels like a solid build and the intensity is good for me'."
Having ordered online (the product is also available in store, according to the website), the massage gun was delivered a few days later. Kate said: "My first opinion was it has a pleasing aesthetic and feels like it will last, and there's a three-year warranty in case it doesn't.
"It couldn't be easier to use, and there are five different massage heads with 30 different intensity levels so you can really get into those troublesome muscle knots. There's also a handy guide to where you should, and shouldn't, use the gun and advice on which head to use for which areas of the body.
"After 20 minutes of use for two consecutive days, my neck and shoulders feel so much better. I honestly think this gun is worth three times the price Aldi is selling it for.
"While there's no replacing a professional massage, this little device was well worth the money and I know I'll get plenty of use out of it for years to come." Click this link to buy the Crane fitness massage gun.
