Albion Rovers manager Brian Reid says his team could have put League Two leaders Kelty Hearts to the sword - but their performance in the 0-0 draw deserves credit regardless.
The Wee Rovers threatened to shock their visitors with Kyle Doherty and Sean Fagan efforts proving to be big chances.
Joe Cardle had the only real away opening and their case was hit with a blow by Kieran Ngwenya's sending off. He dragged down Charlie Reilly as he was bearing down on the Hearts goal.
Scott Roberts missed a golden opportunity free inside the box to win the game for Albion Rovers late on as Reid was made to settle for a point.
A 3-1 victory for the league leaders had played out at New Central Park last Saturday but boss Kevin Thomson was not able to get past Reid's men for a fourth time this term.
Rovers sit ninth and eight points above basement club Cowdenbeath while Kelty need a maximum of eight points to wrap up League Two.
The Coatbridge boss reckons that a killer touch could have sealed an impressive three points.
He said: “I thought it was a decent performance and to keep a clean sheet against Kelty is a credit to the players. We had a good shape about us and we created plenty of chances.
“We have two or three opportunities and one of them has to go in. We score one of them and we win the game.
"Anybody at the game at Kelty on Saturday would probably say we deserved more than we got from it. We made some poor decisions and were a goal down after 30 seconds.
"We took confidence from that as they are well ahead in the league. We were good all over the park and a point against Kelty isn't the worst. But we probably deserved three points."
The match at Cliftonhill was delayed by around 10 minutes due to a bizarre mix-up with the Kelty team sheet. Reid says it did disrupt some early plans.
He explained: "I was coming up the stairs and Dougie Hill was the number four coming up the stairs (on the Kelty team sheet). I was wondering if they'd made a change.
"I look at the team sheet and it was totally different to what was on the park. It doesn't help us as we have players picking others up.
"That's happened to us before up at Forfar, where the team sheet I got was totally different to the team on the park. So I think somebody needs a new pair of glasses to sort their team sheets."
Kelty boss Thomson added: "The team lines were wrong. I would love to tell you why. We had to go with a team that was the team three weeks ago. Frustrating."
