Albert Pujols joined an elite club Friday night in Los Angeles and he did it in style, hitting both his 699th career home run and his 700th home run at Dodger Stadium.
He now joins Barry Bonds, Hank Aaron, and Babe Ruth as the only players in MLB history to hit 700 home runs or more and he now has some time to add to that number after taking care of business Friday night in LA.
Pujols hit a 434-foot blast to left field in the third inning and then in the fourth inning he hit No. 700 that went a few rows up in the left field stands.
Heres’ that historic moment.

Pujols, who is going to retire after this season, has been on a tear in the second half to reach the historic mark:
I’m mind-blown. Pujols needed 21 home runs this year to get to 700 and it seemed borderline impossible.
He’s hit 15 home runs in 47 games since the all-star break at age 42. It took all 15 to get to 700.
An absolutely incredible story.

At the all-star break I thought there was no shot Albert Pujols was going to get to 700.
What a run he’s been on. https://t.co/TNgOtiyOn5
