Sunseekers are rushing to snap up a travel bargain to beat the January blues.
Travel search engine KAYAK has confirmed the sunny European destinations that UK travellers are exploring for some sunshine.
Tirana in Albania is the most searched sunny destination, with flight searches up about 266% on the previous month. However prices have risen by about 33% with average prices around £117, so research is key to getting a good deal.
Greece is the second most popular destination, with searches up about 151%, and flight prices are down around 15% with average fares at around £85.
The Italian capital of Rome has the cheapest flights, with average prices around £52, down about 18% on last month, according to online searches.
The most expensive European winter sun is Nice, France, with average flight prices around £109, which are up about 31% on last month

We are seeing a big spike in people searching for European destinations, and there are some savings to be had with many destinations seeing flight and hotel prices down compared to last month.
