Alarming: 100,000 migrants evade Border Patrol this year

Nearly 100,000 migrants have slipped through Border Patrol at the southern border this fiscal year.

New Numbers Show Alarming Amount of Migrants Slipping Through Southern Border

According to recent reports, the number of migrants slipping through the southern border and evading Border Patrol has reached a concerning level. Sources within Border Patrol have revealed that nearly 100,000 individuals have managed to escape apprehension at the border this fiscal year. This equates to an average of 800 migrants disappearing into the United States on a daily basis.

The question arises: does President Biden have plans to locate these individuals? The answer seems to lie in the hands of Congress, as negotiations and processes are currently underway to address this pressing issue. The Department of Homeland Security has requested access to Shelby Park in a letter, while Texas Governor Greg Abbott has asserted the state's right to defend itself against the influx of illegal immigrants, blaming President Biden for enticing their entry.

Recent footage captured by drone cameras in Texas displayed a group of approximately 30 migrants scaling a shipping container, employing clothing as a form of protection against the razor wire. Texas DPS (Department of Public Safety) was positioned on the other side to apprehend the group for criminal trespassing. In a separate incident in El Paso, USBP (United States Border Patrol) agents detained a foot guide affiliated with the La Lina cartel, who had been involved in over 40 illegal entries in the past two years. USBP Chief Owens emphasized the need for strict consequences for these criminals.

The treacherous conditions migrants face in crossing the border were evident as a male migrant was captured on camera attempting to navigate the fast and dangerous currents of the Rio Grande. Although he came dangerously close to being swept downstream, he ultimately managed to reach the shore with the assistance of Texas National Guard personnel. Tragically, the Rio Grande sees an average of one drowning death per day. It is important to note that no cuts have been observed on the razor wire that stretches along the Rio Grande, as it acts as a deterrent for crossing.

The situation unfolding at the southern border demands immediate attention and action. With an alarmingly high number of migrants successfully evading authorities and dangerous conditions risking lives, it is crucial for Congress and the Biden administration to work collaboratively to find effective solutions. The ongoing negotiations and processes must yield concrete results to address the pressing challenges and maintain border security.
