Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer has wished club-record signing Alexander Isak 'good luck' after his blockbuster move from Real Sociedad was confirmed. The Sweden international was announced as the Magpies' fourth senior recruit this summer, after a deal in the region of £58 million was agreed with the La Liga side.
Isak was pictured on Tyneside on Thursday undergoing a medical at the club's Benton base before travelling to St James' Park. The 22-year-old forward has been handed the number 14 shirt, with reports suggesting a six-year deal has been signed.
Pictures of Isak wearing the black-and-white stripes unsurprisingly accompanied Newcastle's announcement on Friday announcement of their club-record signing. Footage showed the forward walking out on to the St James' Park turf for the first time, and he also posed for pictures on the pitch as well as in the dressing room.

The announcement was met with universal acclaim from supporters, and comes shortly after number nine Callum Wilson underwent a scan for his latest hamstring injury. The move has also seemingly received the seal of approval from United's all-time leading goalscorer himself, who took to social media after the transfer was confirmed.
Shearer wrote 'good luck in the [black] & [white] Alexander' along with an emoji of his trademark celebration'. The message was warmly received by supporters, with one fan even suggesting the 22-year-old could be eyeing the club legend's status as the leading goalscorer.
