Alan Shearer has no doubt Erling Haaland will beat his record for the most goals in a Premier League campaign this season.
The legendary striker made the admission following City's 3-1 victory over Arsenal on Wednesday which took the Blues to the top of the table. Kevin De Bruyne opened the scoring with a stunning finish after a sloppy mistake but the Gunners equalised through a Bukayo Saka penalty.
But City took the lead again after Jack Grealish finished off a scintillating move before Haaland grabbed his customary goal to seal the points with a potent finish into the far corner. It takes the Norwegian sensation's tally for the season up to 32 in all competitions with 26 of those coming in the league.

It's a remarkable scoring rate and he has 15 games remaining to score nine more times and break the record of 34 in a season, which is held jointly by Andy Cole and Shearer. The latter admitted he has already considered congratulating Haaland for a landmark he has yet to reach.
"He’ll do it," said Shearer, speaking to Amazon Prime. "I was going to actually congratulate him tonight because it’s only a matter of time before he gets it.
"I’d be the first to shake his hand, it’s going to go. I really enjoy his attitude, I love his desire and I love what he was saying about not sleeping at night when he doesn’t score goals because that’s what a goalscorer is. I love everything about him and as I’ve said beforehand, if you’re building the perfect centre forward he is it and I think he’s almost perfect, and he’s playing in a great team.”
