Former Newcastle United striker Alan Shearer praised Marcus Rashford but said he lacks the killer instinct of an out-and-out striker after the attacker opened the scoring for Manchester United against Nottingham Forest.
United hit the ground running on their return to the Premier League after the World Cup break as Erik ten Hag's side put in a superb performance on Tuesday night to claim all three points. Rashford and Anthony Martial both found the back of the net within three minutes of each other in the first half, while a goal from Fred in the 87th minute capped a fine display from the Reds.
A corner routine straight from the training ground saw Christian Eriksen pick out Rashford with a drilled cross along the ground and the 25-year-old lost his marker and fired the ball past Wayne Hennessey in goal. The strike takes the England international's Premier League tally to five for the season - ahead of Antony and Martial in joint-second with three goals each.

Rashford admitted after the match that his best position is on the left wing and that is an assessment that Shearer agrees with.
"I think Marcus enjoys it more, he looks better certainly, in the position we saw tonight," Shearer said on Amazon Prime. "He's been given a little bit of freedom - if he wants to go down the middle at times, he can.
"But when he's got all that space to run into from out wide, he's a better player in doing that and he's very, very good at doing that.
"In terms of him being a centre-forward, he lacks that killer instinct, that natural ability to think 'yeah, I'm going to get in there, I'm going to get the two or three yarders'. But there's no doubting his ability, he's a fantastic player."
