Alan Partridge joins Coldplay on stage for cover of Kate Bush's iconic Running Up That Hill

Coldplay opted to cover an iconic track by Kate Bush in the only way they knew how - by bringing Alan Partidge in for a bizarre duet.

The group are in the middle of their Music of the Spheres tour throughout the UK and Europe, and gave fans a shock a few days ago when they brought out Craig David.

But over the weekend at Wembley, things got even more strange when they opted to do a version of Running Up That Hill , Kate's breakout single which hit #1 in the charts earlier this month thanks to a version on Stranger Things .

And who better to belt along to it with than Alan Partridge - the comedy alias of Steve Coogan, known for being a parody of British TV presenters and personalities.

Naturally, he was wearing a Snow Patrol jacket.

Clips of the cover soon spread to social media, leaving fans and friends alike baffled.

One wrote: "Haha not what I expected... running up that hill. Alan partridge style with coldplay

A second added: "Alan Partridge singing Running up that Hill with Coldplay was not on my 2022 bingo card."

While a third questioned: "I wonder if Kate bush knows that Coldplay and Alan partridge are now singing her song Running Up That Hill together at Wembley?!!"

And he stuck around a bit to cover some ABBA tracks as well, with Knowing Me Knowing You being captured on video too!

Of course, Coogan has plenty of musical background, having performed Come Out You Black and Tans live on the BBC to the hilarity of Irish viewers in the past.
