Leeds United could solve their big problem when Kalvin Phillips returns from injury next month.
That's according to former Aston Villa full-back Alan Hutton, who believes the 26-year-old might help the Whites improve defensively after conceding six times in their last two matches.
Marcelo Bielsa's side also haven't keep a clean sheet in 2022 and it's becoming an issue that needs to solved sooner rather than later as they try to stay in the Premier League.
However, the Whites are next in action when they take on Manchester United but they be without Phillips, who has been missing since the 2-2 draw with Brentford on December 5.
He limped off with a hamstring issue which forced him to have surgery but he could return to the side in March and it would be a huge boost to the Whites.
Leeds have conceded the third-most amount of goals this season (44) and have shipped an average of three per game since Phillips has been unavailable.
Hutton, who made over 200 appearances for Villa, suggested that the Whites can’t expect to win games if that defensive record continues.
Hutton told Football Insider : "He makes their starting eleven much better.
"I don’t think they’re far off, and if they can bring back a couple of players from injury then that’ll be a massive help.
"Sometimes when you’re down the bottom of the league, you start to feel that pressure. They had a chance to build a gap against Everton, and I think the pressure just got to them.
"They score goals, but they concede them as well. Every team knows that there’s always going to be opportunities when you play Leeds.
"It’s a big problem and something they’ve got to look at and try and improve, and possibly Phillips could be a part of that. You can’t keep conceding all these goals and expect to win games."
