Dundee United are eyeing up a pre-contract move for in-form Livingston winger Alan Forrest.
The 25-year-old is out of contract this summer and has moved on to the radar of Tannadice boss Tam Courts and sporting director Tony Asghar.
Forrest - brother of Celtic and Scotland star James - has impressed for David Martindale 's side this season.
The former Ayr United player was a January target for St Johnstone.
The Saints agreed a fee to sign Forrest but the player then turned down a move to Perth, who were bottom of the table at that point.
Livi boss Martindale is still in talks over a new deal and hasn’t given up on extending his existing contract.
United would be a bit more appealing because they are in the top six and would be able to offer better financial terms should they decide to step up their interest to sign him on a free transfer.
There has been no direct contact with Livingston or Forrest so far.
Dundee United travel to Livingston on Wednesday with just one point separating the two sides.
United are looking to add more pace to their front areas. They previously agreed a pre-contract for Tony Watt in December before they agreed an early deal to sign him from Motherwell last month.
