Speaking to Ian Dempsey on his breakfast show on Today FM, he said: “I love Galway. My mum and dad are coming over to see me in Galway, so they better laugh the people of Galway.
"Because my mum and dad have never been there so I said well listen come and see the show there, it’s such a laugh, we always have a bit of a giggle so they are coming over so I hope the people of Galway put on a good show for my mum and dad”.
The UK star opened up about performing in Ireland, recalling how special it is.
“In Ireland, it’s just a big party isn’t it? The last tour I did Yak Yak Yak back in 2016, I remember them, they’d come and just put all these shots on the front of the stage which they wanted me to neck and of course I have to do it don’t I?
"It’s always a bit special when I perform in Ireland because by the end of the stand-up set I either want a fight or a kebab”.
Alan also opened up about his friendship with Adele, who he has been friends with for over several years, leaning on the superstar when he announced his divorce from Paul Drayton after 13 years together.
He said she’s always been supportive and even comes to see his shows.
"I love the fact that people might think Adele would say Alan what do you think of that. I can’t even talk in tune, never mind sing. I was very privileged to hear her new album before it came out and was like this is so amazing.
"She always comes to see my shows and she came to the last one twice which was really lovely and I could hear her cackling away at the back with her distinctive cackle and I can see people in the front row turn around to see if it’s Adele and I’m like woah woah woah tonight is about me thank you very much”.
