Alan Brazil 'scared' of reunion with Celtic boss Ange as presenter reveals he played against him and FORGOT

Most Celtic fans would bite your arm off for a chance meeting with Ange Postecoglou.

But Alan Brazil could see it far enough as he admits he's "scared" to run into him after running his mouth when he first arrived. And while Brazil admits he'd never heard of him before his Parkhead arrival, he revealed he should have – because he played against him in Australia.

Brazil was critical of Postecoglou when he first emerged as Celtic's No.1 contender back in the summer of 2021, fearing the worst after a relatively unheard-of manager came to the fore after talks with Eddie Howe collapsed. But he's since admitted he got it all wrong with the Greek-Aussie restoring the Hoops to Scotland's dominant force with a league title in his first season and a domestic Treble well and truly on the cards in his second.

But while he'd never heard of him, the former Scotland striker admits that was a major oversight on his part - because he played against him while running out for Wollongong City while Postecoglou was marshalling the backline for South Melbourne. Brazil told AceOdds: "Celtic have a lot of character. I'd never heard of the manager, and it turns out I played against him at the end of my career, when I played for Wollongong, we played Melbourne and he was on the team sheet, someone sent me it.

"I've yet to bump into him. I'm scared to! Because I was saying (on talkSPORT), 'who's this guy? What's going on? Where did he come from?' And he's proved us all wrong. He certainly proved me wrong. And they tell me he's a great guy.

"So they've still got every chance of doing the treble, they really have. And my worry is, will we keep him? But rumour has it, he will sign a new contract at Celtic, he loves it."
