Alan Brazil names Celtic transfer candidate for Tottenham as Cameron Carter Vickers debate sees Ally McCoist slapped down

Alan Brazil has asked whether Jota could be the Celtic man to make the step towards Premier League football as Ally McCoist insists Cameron Carter-Vickers is THE key man for the Hoops.

The former Scotland player and diehard Hoops fan was on his talkSPORT morning show with Rangers legend McCoist as the question of what Parkhead stars could follow Ange Postecoglou to Tottenham was debated. Kyogo was the first to be linked this summer and now Reo Hatate plus Carter-Vickers have received links to Spurs.

When asked if Carter-Vickers could return to North London with his former gaffer who signed him from that club in 2021, Brazil was conclusive. He said: "He has been on top form but look, Brendan won't want to make too many changes. He will know the ones that want out but I don't think he would be one of them." McCoist then chimed in, adding: "I would be interested to hear your opinions on it, but the player you mentioned there Carter-Vickers has been the one stalwart in the Celtic side that has made the difference. Believe it or not, more than Kyogo, who I really like. But Carter-Vickers is the one."

Brazil then asked the former striker "What about Jota, could you not see him doing it in the Premier?' And McCoist answered: "Yeah, Jota is really talented. But when Carter-Vickers was missing towards the end of the season, different team. He was the key man."

That wasn't pleasing Brazil though, who wasn't having the jibes of Celtic faltering when the American international's knee injury when ruled out for the back-end of last term. He added: "They took the foot off the accelerator, what's up with you?"
