Hearts have paid tribute to one of the club's "finest-ever servants" as former skipper Alan Anderson sadly passed away aged 85.
The ex-Jambos defender sadly died over the weekend, but leaves behind a tremendous legacy at Tynecastle.
Anderson turned out in maroon for 13 years from 1963-76, making over 500 appearances for his boyhood club.
He also won five Scotland caps and scored 38 goals for the Jam Tarts in the process after making his debut against Dunfermline Athletic.
Over 200 of his run-outs for the Jambos came as skipper as he made his final bow in a match against St Johnstone in 1976.
Paying tribute to Anderson, the club tweeted expressing its sadness at the news: "It is with great sadness that we have to advise of the death of Alan Anderson, one of the finest-ever servants of Heart of Midlothian Football Club.
"Alan was a Hearts man through-and-through, and was proud to make over 500 appearances and captain the team that he loved."
