Alabama survived Texas A&M on Saturday.
And survived is the only word to describe the 24-20 victory that wasn’t safe until the Aggies couldn’t score a touchdown on the final play of the game in Tuscaloosa.
The top-ranked — for now — Crimson Tide watched Texas A&M drive toward the goal with a chance to add an upset to their win over Alabama in 2021.
It wasn’t about to happen as Alabama had great coverage on the play and Evan Stewart couldn’t grab what would have been a game-winning TD.

The Aggies only had the play with three seconds left because Alabama was called for pass interference in the end zone that negated a Jordan Battle pick on the previous snap.

Jalen Milroe playing quarterback for the injured Bryce Young had a difficult game. He accounted for 3 turnovers, 1 interception, and a pair of lost fumbles.
His TD pass to Ja’Corey Brooks early in the third quarter gave the Tide a 24-14 lead that held … barely.
The Tide has to hope its Heisman winner can play next Saturday when they visit Rocky Top and face unbeaten Tennessee.
The Tide-Vols game will feature unbeaten teams for the first time since 1989. That year Alabama won, 47-30, in Tuscaloosa.
