Alabama’s Jermaine Burton Trolled Georgia Student Section With Savage ‘Heartbreak’ Move

Alabama wide receiver Jermaine Burton couldn't resist rubbing in the Crimson Tide’s 27–24 victory over Georgia in the SEC championship game on Saturday.

As time expired on the Crimson Tide’s upset win, Burton, who used to play for the Bulldogs, ran up to the Georgia student section and trolled the fans with a broken heart gesture.

Burton, who spent his first two seasons with Georgia before transferring to Tuscaloosa ahead of the 2022 season, was perfectly content to play the villain role at the end of the SEC championship game. After flashing the broken heart symbol, the Tide wideout proceeded to shout at the fans before walking off.

Burton essentially summed up how Georgia fans are feeling with the heartbreak gesture, as Alabama may have dashed any hopes the ‘Dawgs had a of a three-peat, as they hope for a Michigan or Florida State loss. And the senior receiver certainly played a role in ensuring that Bulldogs fans would be going home upset, as he caught a touchdown pass that extended the Tide’s lead to 17–7 heading into halftime.

Alabama wide receiver Jermaine Burton wasted no time in trolling the fans of his former school, Georgia, after winning the 2023 SEC championship.

Burton and Alabama may have won the SEC, but there are no guarantees in terms of their College Football Playoff hopes, especially given that 12–1 Texas—which beat the Tide earlier this year—also won their conference title Saturday.

But Burton did one-up his former team on one of the biggest stages, which is why the Alabama receiver felt moved to troll the Bulldogs student section.
