Akshay Bhatia What's In The Bag?
Akshay Bhatia is one of the most exciting players on the PGA Tour and has shot to prominence over the past couple of years with some impressive performances, not least when he clinched his maiden victory at the Barracuda Championship in 2023. He then added the 2024 Valero Texas Open to his resumé after defeating Denny McCarthy in a playoff.
Bhatia is signed to play Callaway golf clubs and uses a full set, from driver to ball, made by the brand. So let’s take a look at what the exciting leftie has in his bag this year.
Driver
What Driver Does Akshay Bhatia Use?

At the top of the bag Bhatia has this year switched from his old faithful Callaway Rogue ST Max driver to the new 2025 Callaway Elyte Triple Diamond driver in a 9˚ head. He has this driver fitted with a Fujikura Ventus Black 7 X shaft. Callaway make some of the best drivers out there and the Elyte Triple Diamond is set to be one of the most widely used among tour pros this year.
Bhatia uses a lot of lead tape on this clubhead, adding 2 grams to the heel and 4 grams to the toe.
Fairway Woods

As with a growing number of Tour players, Bhatia has added a mini driver to his bag recently in the form of a Callaway Paradym Ai Smoke Ti 340. It’s a 13.5 degree head set to one degree down, and his shaft of choice is a Fujikura Ventus Black 8 X.
In addition to the mini driver, Bhatia is also gaming a Callaway Paradym Ai Smoke Max 3 wood. Once again he uses a Fujikura Ventus Black 8 X shaft.
We loved the forgiveness and ease of launch of the Max model in our testing and described it as one of the best fairway woods of 2024. Whether Bhatia upgrades to the new Elyte fairway wood at some point this year remains to be seen.

Akshay is gaming an early prototype version of the Apex UW from Callaway, which yet again features a Fujikura shaft, the Ventus Black 10 X. Whilst this is the 19 degree head, he has had it bent to just under 18 degrees to meet his yardage requirements.

We gave the Apex TCB irons five stars in our review and we see them as one of the best options out there for the better player who wants to shape shots while also needing a little bit of forgiveness.
