Ajax confirm talks with Ten Hag
Ajax have done 'everything they can' to keep United manager-elect Erik ten Hag but they are preparing for his exit. That's the message from Gerry Hamstra - who serves as technical manager for the Eredivisie giants.
Manchester Evening News reported last month that Ten Hag was a preferred candidate to step into the dugout as permanent manager, while suggestions that a verbal agreement are in place can be backed up by key figures in the boardroom waiting for a decision before pressing forward with transfers.

As yet there has been no confirmation. However, it appears increasingly likely that Ten Hag - who had steered Ajax into the Dutch Cup final before they were beaten by PSV Eindhoven on Sunday afternoon - will touch down at Old Trafford in time for next season.
Pundit slams three United players
Graeme Souness has launched an extraordinary attack on United duo Bruno Fernandes and Raphael Varane while claiming Cristiano Ronaldo shouldn't play every game.
Having each impressed since making respective moves to Old Trafford, Fernandes in particular drew regular praise for his performances after joining from Sporting Lisbon in January 2020. However, while the Portuguese playmaker was a stand-out for United during his first 18 months at the club, he has struggled more this season.
The 27-year-old has scored just nine goals so far this campaign - having tallied 28 in all competitions last term.
