Atlanta Hawks rookie AJ Griffin didn’t let a draining clock stand between him and an overtime win for his team.
With just a handful of seconds left to go during Atlanta’s Saturday night game against the Toronto Raptors, Griffin got a lob from Trae Young and knocked down the layup unopposed to snag the win in extra minutes.
It’s a bit bizarre to imagine how the Raptors let Griffin get so open, much less let the ball get downcourt in the first place. One team’s busted coverage is another team’s opportunity, which helped Atlanta get to 10-6 on the season.
Since being drafted out of Duke this past summer, Griffin has made his presence known for the Hawks.

Talk about making the most out of a few seconds.
Hawks fans will undoubtedly want to see more of this from the rook as Atlanta tries to make waves in the Eastern Conference.
