Celtic could be set to add to their midfield ranks yet again with Ferencvaros midfielder Aissa Laidouni the latest star to be linked with a move to the Scottish Premiership leaders.
Having signed Aaron Mooy and Oliver Abildgaard late on in the summer transfer window, it appeared on paper that Ange Postecoglou had plenty of options in the engine room given the continuously superb form of skipper Callum McGregor, tenacious star Reo Hatate and the technically gifted duo of Matt O'Riley and David Turnbull. Throw James McCarthy and Yosuke Ideguchi into the mix, and Celtic's strength in depth is impressive in the middle of the park.
But according to Foot Mercato, the affable Aussie could yet add to his star-studded options with the signing of Tunisian star Laidouni, who would be available for a fee of around £3.5million (€4m) after seriously impressing in his spell at Hungarian outfit Ferencvaros and at the Qatar World Cup. They describe the midfielder as having been a "revelation" in Qatar and say the Hoops and Wolfsburg are both interested in a deal.
Laidouni played all three games for Tunisia at the World Cup and caught the eye despite his team going out at the group stage. He was one of the stars of the show as they beat France in their final game and has 28 caps in total for his country.
