Aissa Laidouni transfer fee revealed as Celtic linked star hit with hefty Ferencvaros price tag

Ferencvaros chief Pal Orosz has dampened Celtic's hopes of landing Tunisia World Cup hero Aissa Laidouni by slapping an £8.7 million price tag on their star man. The midfielder enjoyed an excellent Qatar 2022 with the African nation and has attracted a host of clubs to show interest, including the Hoops.

A number of French clubs and German side Wolfsburg have been credited with the strongest interest, but Celtic are also reportedly keen as Ange Postecoglou looks to strengthen his Scottish Premiership champions.. The Hungarian club's president Gabor Kubatov admitted this week they will be open to selling him. However, the club's chief executive, Orosz, has expanded on that by revealing they could be looking for around 10 million Euros for Laidouni.

He said: "There is interest, but no specific concrete offers yet. The price of a player of this quality is high. We are talking about 10 million Euros. The important thing for him is he moves to a club that takes him up a level. He deserves to go to a prestigious club. It's also good for us if he moves to a big club because future players here can see that we are a stepping stone for a big move."
