An airstrike on two houses in the Maghazi refugee camp in central Gaza on Saturday resulted in the tragic death of 11 members of the same family. The incident was confirmed by hospital authorities and a family member.
According to Abu Ibrahim Shanaya, a cousin and neighbor of some of the victims, eleven people lost their lives in the airstrike, while several others sustained injuries. The Al Aqsa Martyrs Hospital reported that they received 11 bodies, including three children and four women.
While the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) did not provide specific details regarding the strike in Maghazi, they stated that in the central Gaza Strip, troops directed Israeli Air Force (IAF) strikes and dismantled terrorist structures used by Hamas for activities such as sniper fire and planting explosives.
This tragic event highlights the ongoing conflict in the region and the devastating impact it has on innocent civilians caught in the crossfire. The loss of lives, especially of women and children, underscores the urgent need for a peaceful resolution to the conflict and the protection of civilian populations.
