Airline sales promise $29 flights and $899 vacation packages (if you act fast)

In one last effort to get passengers to lock in travel dates before things get expensive for the holidays, several airlines have launched promotions for travel both within the U.S. and to Europe.

For those who book travel before Oct. 31, the International Airlines Group-owned British Airways has an "Experience Europe" sale that combines flights with hotel stays and car rentals.

For fares starting at $899, one can lock in a five-day stay in a London hotel alongside a round-trip flight from cities that include New York, Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles or Washington, D.C. You can also find your own hotel and instead get a flight and a seven-day car rental starting at $694.

Secure that European vacation package for cheap

Travel dates can be chosen between now and April 2024 but the lowest rates only apply to less popular periods departing during the middle of the week — while one can still book the same package during peak holiday season, the prices will be more expensive.

While they are not part of the package promotion, cities such as Rome and Barcelona can also be booked through the "Experience Europe" sale starting at $493.

Those who want to travel to the U.K. in business class or stay in a higher class of hotel can also participate in the bundling with flight-hotel packages starting at $3,199.

"From cozy cafes to holiday markets; snowy villages to holiday lights, Europe has something for everyone over winter," British Airways Head of North America Norma Rios said in a statement to press. "[...] We also have great last-minute airfares, opening up so many opportunities to take that long awaited European break, visit friends or family or experience London at its festive best this winter."

Breeze Airways launches routes with ultra-low fares

Over in the U.S., Utah-based Breeze Airways also launched a sale to celebrate the new routes it will be adding to Las Vegas and Tampa from Gulfport, Mississippi and Raleigh-Durham from Akron-Canton in Ohio.

The routes will be available in January and February 2024, respectively, and those who are willing to book their travel early will be able to score $59 fares from Mississippi to Las Vegas, $39 fares between Raleigh-Durham and Akron as well as $29 fares between Mississippi and Tampa.

Travelers can book the flights up until Sept. 3, 2024 on the Breeze website; the low rates will appear on the calendar of route options until 11:59 p.m.on Oct. 30.

"Breeze seeks to connect cities that currently don't have any nonstop flight options,” Breeze Airways President Tom Doxey said in a statement to Travel + Leisure. "Now residents of Gulfport and Biloxi will have convenient and affordable service to Las Vegas or Tampa, two of the country's most popular destinations."

For those who need to go somewhere outside the cities that are part of the current promotion, Breeze is also giving 10,000 of its loyalty points to those who book a round-trip flight anywhere in the country by the end of Oct. 26 — this is enough for a one-way flight between nearby cities.
