AN airline has launched flights from Glasgow to a popular winter destination after "strong" demand.
After proving popular with customers in Scotland last year, Jet2 has scheduled twice weekly flights from Glasgow Airport to Iceland, giving locals the opportunity to experience this incredible "bucket list" destination.
With flights scheduled for November, one of the best times of the year to see the Northern Lights, holidaymakers can book ahead as it is the earliest they have put the Iceland programme on sale.
Flying on Wednesdays and Sundays from November 6 to 24, 2024, all flights will land at Keflavík International Airport near Reykjavik, giving customers the opportunity to see the natural wonders of Iceland and in the countdown to Christmas.
Visitors can choose from a range of options from flight-only or packages, which are available from £60 per person deposit.
Packages include flights, hold luggage, airport transfers, a choice of 3 and 4-star hotels in Reykjavik and a guided Northern Lights Tour.
Excursions are also available to top attractions such as South Shore, Golden Circle and Blue Lagoon.
Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, said: “Iceland is a destination that has continued to see strong demand due to its many stunning natural wonders, so we are delighted to be launching our Iceland programme for Winter 24/25 from Glasgow Airport.
"As a result of this strong demand and the number of customers looking to book their break nice and early, the programme has been put on sale earlier than ever.
"Thanks to the choice and flexibility we are offering when it comes to visiting Iceland, we have no doubt they will be flocking to book flights and city breaks to this magical destination.
"The beauty of Iceland, coupled with the fantastic benefits available through Jet2CityBreaks, means we are looking ahead to a very busy programme next winter.”
