A BUDGET airline is set to add routes from a Scottish airport to a popular American city.
JetBlue is adding Boston to its list of destinations from Edinburgh.
The service will operate from Edinburgh from May 23 to October 25, flying daily between Scotland’s capital and one of the USA’s most famous cities on an A321neo aircraft.
Chief executive of Edinburgh Airport Gordon Dewar said: “This is a bit of an early Christmas present as JetBlue adds a second destination from Edinburgh Airport providing even more connections between Scotland and the USA."
JetBlue also said it would extend its service to New York following a successful first year.
Dewar said: “The success of JetBlue’s Edinburgh to New York JFK route has demonstrated to the airline the clear demand for transatlantic travel from Scotland’s busiest airport, and we are delighted to see them add Boston to their schedule as well as extend that hugely successful JFK service.
“And if anyone is looking for a last-minute Christmas gift, then these flights will go on sale immediately so give the gift of travel this year.”
