Airdrie have signed Australian defender Lachlan Byrd as they further strengthen their squad for the second half of the League One campaign.
The 20-year-old central defender, who can also play at full-back, joins from Dandenong Thunder in his native Australia, after impressing on trial.
Byrd, who stands at 6ft 4ins, told Airdrie's website: "My ambitions are to push on and I think Scotland is a good place to develop.
"Obviously Airdrie is a good club, with a great support.
"It was an easy decision to come over here and really test my skills."
Boss Rhys McCabe said: "Lachie's a big, physical defender who can play right across the back four.
"He's quick and strong, with good physical attributes.
"He's only 20, so there's loads of room for improvement, in terms of the bigger picture, and we're delighted to get him in at this point in his career."
Byrd is Airdrie's fifth signing of the January window, following winger Lewis McGregor, midfielder Joe Stanway and strikers Joe Dixon and Bright Prince.
