Airdrie boss Ian Murray reckons Clyde "got away with one" after the Bully Wee ended their winning run in League One with a dramatic comeback last night.
After a goal-less 72 minutes, the match burst into life with four late strikes as Clyde twice came from behind to claim a valuable point.
Dylan Easton opened the scoring before Robert Jones pulled Clyde level with 10 minutes remaining. In a pulsating finale, Jordan Allan looked to have won it for the Diamonds in the 84th minute but Billy Mortimer's first goal for Clyde two minutes from time earned them a draw.
It put a dent in Airdrie's hopes of catching leaders Cove Rangers, who they trail by seven points, and Murray was gutted to see his side's five-game winning run in League One come to an end.
He said: "We are very sore and frustrated.
"We dominated the game. It took us a while to get the goal so I'm bitterly disappointed for everybody because we deserved to win that game.
"But we need to go away and look at a couple of things as well.
"It was one-way traffic and that's no disrespect to Clyde because I think they know they got away with one as well. Some of our play was so good.
"I thought the energy and work-rate we put in from the first minute to the last was excellent, I couldn't fault them in that aspect of it.
"In the first half we lacked a bit of quality in the final third - that was our problem - and we rectified that in the second half.
"Football is a cruel game, it really is, it changes in the blink of an eye.
"It's a harsh lesson for us but sometimes a little knock can make you stronger and that's the message to the players now."
Clyde gaffer Danny Lennon was delighted to pick up a point as his sixth-place side closed the gap on Falkirk to three points, having played a game more.
He said: "I think as a neutral, the second half really came alive. There were a lot of goal mouth incidents. A lot of the good football came from Airdrie.
"I thought we were in good shape and worked incredibly hard. We made changes and changed things slightly.
"Airdrie are very fluent with their movement off the ball. But we limited them.
"We did well to come back twice and almost steal it. It's important we keep picking up points.”
Airdrie now travel to Queen's Park on Saturday and Clyde host Alloa.
