Ian Murray has moved into pole position to become manager of Championship club Raith Rovers.
The Diamonds boss guided his team back to the second tier play-offs during the 2021/22 season after a club record unbeaten run in League One.
They fell at the final hurdle again just like their 2021 heartbreak against Morton, losing to Queen's Park over two legs.
Murray though could still end up moving up a level as Raith enter 'advanced talks' with the former Hibs star, according to the Daily Express.
He is 'expected' to land the role at Stark's Park now the campaign has come to a close for both sides and Kelty Hearts manager Kevin Thomson pulled out of running for this position.
John McGlynn recently vacated the role to take up the management gig at Airdrie's League One rivals Falkirk.
After a coaching spell in Norway occurred after stints as Dumbarton and St Mirren boss, Murray became Diamonds gaffer in 2018.
He's delivered top half finishes every season he's been in charge alongside two consecutive runners-up spots.
